A living dichotomy - That's what I am.
Nico Rubino is a Venezuelan born filmmaker, raised between Caracas and Philadelphia. After moving to the U.S. at 12, he developed a perspective shaped by cultural contrast, one that continues to influence how he approaches film, sport, culture, and storytelling.
His work has taken him from nearly five years shaping the visual identity of Inter Miami CF during one of the most transformative periods in American soccer, to producing for FIFA Films during the FIFA World Cup and creating work with brands and partners including EA SPORTS, Modelo, Adidas, Apple, and MLS.
He directed La Primera, a documentary chronicling Inter Miami’s journey to the first championship in club history, and has worked closely with some of the biggest figures in global football, including Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez.
Now Director of Commercial Content at Starting Eleven, Nico leads and directs commercial, documentary, and branded productions while continuing to develop narrative film projects of his own.
His work is driven by the same thing that shaped him growing up between two worlds: a fascination with culture, contradiction, identity, and the human stories underneath it all.
